There are several reasons why you might want to hide the Anonabox SSID or otherwise prevent wireless connectivity with the Anonabox. We can offer two relatively easy ways to accomplish this. Be advised however, that you will need to make any configuration changes to the Anonabox via a wired connection in cases where the WiFi has been disabled or you will need to reset the device to return the wireless function. For this reason, we advise that you either make all configurations prior to disabling WiFi and/or securing a wired connection to an internet enabled device from which to configure the Anonabox prior to disabling.
To turn off the wireless feature of the Anonabox, the simplest way to do so would be to ‘hide’ the SSID. This will make the Anonabox wireless network undiscoverable.
To do this, use the ‘Network’ tab in the UI and select ‘Wireless.’
On the resulting page, click the ‘Edit’ button associated with the Anonabox network.
Then scroll down and find the checkbox labeled ‘Hide SSID.’ Check it, and click save and apply.
You can also schedule WiFi access and effectively turn off the wireless feature at user-designated times. Check out our WIKI section on this functionality
